Welcome to Healing little Hearts online!
Our mission is to fund research at Children’s Hospital Boston that will aid in the treatment and cure of pediatric heart defects. Specifically, research on tissue engineered heart valve replacement is one of the greatest hopes for reducing the number of surgeries over the course of a child’s life and reducing the risks associated – from death to developmental impairment – with multiple open heart surgeries. Tissue engineered heart valves will be an exponential leap in the survival and quality of life for children born with life threatening heart problems.

Healing little Hearts was started in June 2007 by Marc and Kelly Weglowski along with their daughter, Jillian, and it immediately grew with nearly 20 volunteers of friends and family. The Weglowskis' son, Brady, now 2 years old, was born with a congenital heart defect and has spent many days and nights at Children’s Hospital Boston. Among many of the things they have learned during this difficult time, is their desire to give back to Children’s Hospital and to help the many children that also depend on Children’s Hospital.
Healing little Hearts held its 1st Annual Fundraising Event this past March 1, 2008, at The New Bedford Whaling Museum.
Thank you to all of our volunteers, sponsors, caterers, donors, and supporters! Your efforts helped us to exceed our goal and raise $110,000 for our 1st Annual Healing little Hearts Event to benefit Children's Hospital Boston and pediatric cardiac research. Hats off to all of you! And thank you ... for giving hope to little hearts.
